Festival in the BARK – June 8th!

We’re excited to announce our 2nd annual Festival in the BARK is back! We’ll have local vendors, food trucks, music, and activities for both people and pets. Most importantly, it’s all about celebrating rescue dogs and raising awareness for NMDR’s mission. We hope to see you there!

Pooch Party at Bristol Brewing

Join us at Bristol Brewing Company in Colorado Springs, where we will have contests, prizes, activities, free canine caricatures & photography, local pet-themed vendors, and adoptable NMDR dogs! Plus, $1 from each pint sold goes to support the War Dog Memorial Colorado!

Adoption Event at Sunmed Colorado Springs

Join NMDR for a special Adoption Event on Saturday, May 31st, at Sunmed in Colorado Springs! Come by between 12 PM and 3 PM to meet a group of our lovable adoptable dogs, all hoping to find a forever home. Whether you’re ready to adopt or just want to learn more about NMDR and our mission, we’d love to see you there.

Peyton Road Construction

The one-mile stretch of J D Johnson Rd. is currently closed for construction. You can turn one mile sooner onto Peyton Hwy or one mile past onto Log Rd and reroute from there. Thank you for your understanding!

Volunteer in Dogsville

As our outreach grows, so does our need for volunteers! While Dogsville is meant to be a stop along the way for the dogs we rescue, we often have 10-15 plus dogs onsite needing our constant care. Dogsville is recruiting volunteers interested in helping with kennel cleaning, grooming, socializing, dog walking, housekeeping, and more! Do you love reading books?

Our Rescue Readers program is back! Socializing with rescued dogs is not only fulfilling, it helps our dogs to become accustomed to human interaction. This activity is appropriate for ages elementary through high school. Please note, you will need to bring a guardian with you to the shelter for this activity.  See our Facebook Events page for more details and dates.
